Because nature is nature, don’t be surprised to hear all the beautiful sounds it has to offer from the local cows, roosters, chickens, sheep, donkeys, geese, birds and dogs. Sometimes, depending on the wind, you can hear the cars on the E19 highway. It’s the small price we have to pay to live so close to Brussels. We also respect the neighbourhood peace here with no noise after 23:00 please.

When are the wild hyacinths in bloom?
The wild hyacinths are in bloom between early April and Mid May. The weather clearly determines when the forest turns blue. In very good weather, bluebells bloom faster than usual and the flower carpet disappears faster than usual. The trees in the forest quickly come to leaf due to warm weather and then the bluebells receive less light, which reduces their flowering. You can easily check online if the bluebells are still putting up a show on the official website of Hallerbos. You can download the map of the hyacinth route here.
Don’t forget that the Hallerbos forest has lots to offer all four seasons – Have a look at our Seasonal Events page.
